This is a very simple preparation for steak. We use loads of garlic! We barbecue them and serve with baked potatoes and a green salad. No, we don't, but we serve it with Barbecued marinated vegetables and naan bread.


  • 1kg beef fillet steaks
  • 1 bulb garlic, cloves separated, peeled and sliced
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


  1. Using a sharp knife, punch holes into steak. Stuff holes with garlic. Cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  2. Preheat barbecue for hot heat.
  3. Place steaks on the barbecue, garlic side up. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, turn, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Continue cooking until done, another 4 to 5 minutes, or to the desired temperature.
